PRIVACY POLICY

Your data, what we do with it, and how to take it back.

This page says what Kognai collects when you use kognai.ai, the Achiri companion and the pay pages, where it goes, how long it stays and what you can do about it. It was written from what the software actually does, not from a template. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we are

Kognai (the operator of kognai.ai) is responsible for the personal data described here. Questions and requests about your data: x@kognai.ai.

What this covers

The Kognai citizen app at app.kognai.ai and other Kognai products may add their own notice where they collect something different.

What we collect

WhatDetails
Invitation and sign inThe email address you were invited with. From it we derive an account identifier. Your browser keeps a device identifier and two cookies (see cookies). One identity record links the ways you reach Achiri (your invitation, a device you used before, a linked Telegram chat) to one account, so every door reaches the same memory.
ConversationsWhat you write or say to Achiri and its replies. We keep your most recent turns (50, 200 or 500 depending on your plan). Older turns are summarised into short notes before they are dropped.
MemoryFacts Achiri retains about you from your conversations (for example a preference or a project). You can read them in Settings and remove them one by one.
Your workRules you set for Achiri, your projects, learning programmes and lessons, coaching and business plan work, briefs and deliveries, and the files and documents you upload or ask Achiri to make.
VoiceA voice message is transcribed into text on Kognai's own server; the text is then handled like a written message.
Feedback and usageRatings you give, how many messages you send a day, your plan, the credits you spend, which model answered and how long it took, and error reports.
Technical dataYour IP address and browser details reach our hosting and network providers and our server logs, and are used for rate limits and security.

How you get in, and how your account is protected

Learning from conversations (off unless you say yes)

After your third conversation Achiri asks you, once, whether it may learn from your conversations. It is off until you say yes, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings: the next message is no longer recorded.

Connected accounts (optional)

You can connect your own accounts in Achiri, Settings, Connectors. Nothing is read until you connect, and each connection asks Google only for what that feature needs:

The access keys Google gives us are encrypted (AES 256 GCM) and stored on Kognai's own server; they are never written to logs. When you disconnect, we delete them at once and ask Google to revoke the access. Calendar and Drive share one Google sign in with Gmail, so the revoke at Google happens when the last of them is disconnected. You can also remove Kognai's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page. Other account types shown as coming soon are not active.

Google user data

Kognai's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:

  • Data from your Google account is used only to provide the features you asked for in Achiri: answering about your agenda, finding a file in your Drive, saving a file you asked to save, reading your mail on your request.
  • It is not used for advertising, it is not sold, and it is not transferred to anyone except as needed to provide those features (for example the model that writes the answer), to comply with the law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to you.
  • It is not used to train or improve AI or machine learning models, ours or anyone else's. A conversation turn that read your Google data is excluded from every learning record, correction export and test set, whatever your learning setting.
  • No person at Kognai reads it, unless you ask us to and agree, it is needed for security (such as investigating abuse), or the law requires it, and then only as far as needed.

Wallets and payments

Public data we analyse

Some Kognai services analyse public information, not information about you as a user. Golden Kog reads public blockchain records and market data about a token, plus token data bought from a data provider, and reports figures such as holder shares and flows; it does not publish lists of wallet owners. Our market intelligence service reads public posts and discussions on public websites. Our public account on X reads posts that mention it. If you think public information about you is being processed by us and you object, write to us.

Who processes it

Most of your personal data (conversations, memory, files, identity, connected account keys) is stored on a server Kognai operates itself, and many requests are answered by models that run on it. Other providers handle a part when a feature needs them:

ProviderWhat they receive, and when
BlockRun and the model makers behind it (for example Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI)When a request needs a stronger model than ours, the text of the request with the context Achiri needs to answer (recent turns, relevant memory, sources). Every model call goes through Kognai's own router first.
ElevenLabsText to be read aloud, when you ask for a spoken reply or a voiced film.
fal and the image and video model makers behind it, xAIYour description, and any picture you give as a reference, when you ask for an image or a video.
ExaThe search words, when Achiri searches the web for you.
Google (Maps Platform)The search words, when you ask Achiri for a place.
Google (your account)Only for the connections you made, as described above.
TelegramYour messages to the Achiri bot, if you use it.
PayAI, and the Base and Solana networksYour payment and wallet address, when you pay with a wallet.
Payment providers for creditsWhat you enter on their page, when you buy credits with a card or a mobile payment.
Our website host and CloudflareYour requests to kognai.ai and to the Achiri service pass through them; they see your IP address and the request.
A managed database providerUsage events (account identifier, plan, which model answered, the length of your message, response time), never the text of your messages.

Why we use it, and on what basis

We make no decision with legal or similarly significant effects on you by automated means alone.

How long we keep it

Your rights, and how to use them

You have the right to access your data, to correct it, to have it deleted, to receive it in a portable format, to object to or restrict some uses, and to withdraw consent. Many of these you can do yourself in Achiri:

For everything else, including a copy of your data (sent as a machine readable file), deleting your whole account and everything linked to it, or a correction, write to x@kognai.ai from the email address you use with Kognai. We answer within one month. Erasing your conversation history in the app does not by itself delete summaries, files, projects or your identity record; ask us for full deletion and we delete them all.

If you think we handle your data unlawfully, you can complain to the data protection authority of the country where you live or work. We would like to hear from you first, so we can fix it.

People under 18

Kognai's services are not directed at children. We do not ask your age when you sign in. Achiri is by invitation, and a person under 18 may only use an account opened with a parent or guardian, who is recorded on the account. On such an account nothing of the young person's own money is ever used: credits come from a monthly allowance decided by the guardian, and requests are reviewed with stricter rules (nothing violent, sexual, frightening or commercial). If you believe a child is using Achiri without a guardian, write to us and we will act on it.

Cookies and browser storage

Transfers and security

Some providers listed above process data in other countries, including outside the European Economic Area. Where the law requires it, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses. We protect your data with encryption for connected account keys, a privacy filter on learning records, and access limited to what each part of the service needs. No system is perfectly secure: if a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authority as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

When what we collect or how we use it changes, we update this page and its date. If a change matters for you, Achiri will tell you before it applies.
