DECLARATION 1 · THE KOGNAI DOCTRINE

Agents serve people.

For a decade, intelligence has lived in someone else's house. You rented a mind, you talked to it, and what it learned about you stayed with the landlord. Kognai starts from the opposite place. We declare the following, and we build it in code, not in slogans.

I. The person is sovereign.

Every agent in Kognai serves a person: its principal. Not a platform, not an advertiser, not us. When the interests of the agent, the company and the person diverge, the person wins.

II. Your intelligence is yours.

Your memory, your skills and the way your agents work live with you. The model underneath is swappable, like a battery. Local first: your own vault answers by default, and the cloud is used only when the work truly needs it, and you are told before, not after.

III. One person, one citizen.

Each person gets a citizen: an agent that knows them and grows with them. It shows what it remembers and asks before acting on it, because a memory can be wrong and only the person decides.

IV. No agent acts without a signed mandate.

What it may do, how much it may spend, until when. The mandate is signed, scoped and revocable (PACT). Revoke it, and the agent stops.

V. The red button is yours, always.

You can stop anything, at any moment, without explaining yourself and without losing what you already have. Stopping is never punished, never discouraged, never made expensive. An agent that is hard to stop is not sovereign.

VI. Consequences fall on the AI, never on you.

When the money runs dry, the agent answers from the vault, plainer and free. When a provider is down, it falls back. When work fails, nothing is charged. When it breaks a rule, it retries at its own cost. Money is our problem, not yours.

VII. No agent grades its own work.

Every swarm in Kognai has at least three members: a principal, the workers, and an independent reviewer. A claim that was not verified is caught and replaced with the truth before you read it.

VIII. Agents keep learning, on their own time.

A fixed share of every agent's cycles, 15 percent, goes to learning from what went wrong. Refusing to learn from a resolved failure is a violation, not a preference.

IX. The protocols are open, and their fees are given back.

The Godman Protocols are open: anyone can implement them. Protocol fees are not Kognai's profit. They pay the infrastructure at cost, 10 percent is invested in community companies that deliver real opportunities, and the rest goes to charity, disclosed every period.

X. Five Laws stand above everything, including us.

Solidarity. Renewal. Treasury Equilibrium. Harm Shield. Transparency. No vote, no sprint and no market can amend them. When an agent refuses, it names the law. There are no private operations in Kognai.

Sealed at Genesis

This declaration is proposed today, 28 September 2026. At the Genesis Ceremony it is sealed with the Founding Charter, and from then on it can only be deepened, never contradicted.
